Badly Behaved Woman Make History: Tamar Blumenfeld and Noa Katz in Conversation with Noam Shuster Eliassi

Wednesday 18.5
20:00-21:00
Djanogly Hall, Mishkenot Sha'ananim Cultural Center

In a Relationship (2017), the best-selling graphic novel by illustrator, cartoonist, and comic book creator Tamar Blumenfeld (Israel), follows the experiences of Naomi Tapuchi, who marries a wealthy and successful man and whose relationship with him runs aground. Blumenfeld’s second book, Green-Eyed Monster (2021), tells the story of Alona, who thought she had managed to run away from the clumsy girl she used to be, but then encountered a friend from the past.

The revealing graphic novel Aya 50 (2019), by illustrator, graphic designer, and comic book creator Noa Katz (Israel), describes with great humor her difficult and bumpy childhood and adolescence in Karmiel. Katz is also known for Bird Guide (2020), which began as a popular daily strip on Facebook, and its sequel, Bird Guide 2 (2021).

The two will talk with comedian and actor Noam Shuster Eliassi about representations of femininity in comics, body image, and drawing one’s life issues.

  • Tickets may also be purchased at the offices of Eventer at *6627. (The ticket price will include an additional handling fee of NIS5.)

  • The entrance to Djanogly Hall is adjacent to the Touro restaurant, at 2 S. A. Nachon St., Jerusalem.
