Zohar Weiman-Kelman and Danny Luzon in Conversation with Yaakov Herskovitz
Yiddish literature has been and continues to be a fascinating literary arena. Its diverse and original corpus addresses sexuality, love, fluid gender identity, and a wide range of other existential issues. Young scholars Dr. Zohar Weiman-Kelman and Dr. Danny Luzon will talk with Dr. Yaakov Herskovitz about the renewed power of Yiddish poetry in connection with the monumental collection Zer Shlagim (2021), translated and edited by Benny Mer.
Poet Avishalom Von Shiloah, who was raised in an ultra-Orthodox home and became secular, will read from the poems in Yiddish and Hebrew.
