The Secrets behind Cramel: A Meeting with Meira Barnea-Goldberg and the Actors of the Series

Wednesday 18.5
17:00-18:00
De Botton Auditorium, Mishkenot Sha'ananim Cultural Center

The Cramel children’s book series by Meira Barnea-Goldberg (Israel), which centers on the three Jerome brothers and the cat Cramel (an acronym formed by the first letters of the Hebrew words for “How far are you willing to go?”), is a cultural phenomenon. Since the book-based series began airing on Kan Educational Television, the red cat that can talk, disappear, and turn stones into gold has become a real cultural icon.

Barnea-Goldberg will talk with the actors of the series, Lirit Balaban (Mrs. Bloom), Jonathan Bar-Or (Rubi), May Kurtz (Helena), and Omri Lex (El-El), about realistic and larger-than-life characters; friendship, courage, and true love as well as what happens in and behind the scenes: How do you write a book? Where do the ideas come from? And where is the castle where the series was filmed? We will also hear secrets about Cramel 7 and about the new comic book.

  • The event is open to children from age seven who love Cramel.
  • We apologize that younger children will not be permitted to enter the hall.
  • Tickets may also be purchased at the offices of Eventer at *6627. (The ticket price will include an additional handling fee of NIS5.)
