Hear My Story| Orna Coussin in Conversation with Maya Yasur and Tami Shem-Tov
Orna Coussin, an acclaimed memoirist and instructor of documentary-literary writing workshops, will speak with Maya Yasur and Tami Shem-Tov, authors of two of the most notable memoirs of recent years.
Tami Shem-Tov, an award-winning children’s author and recipient of the Prime Minister’s Prize for Hebrew Writers, wrote “The Children Are Watching Over Us” (Achuzat Bayit), a memoir exploring her complex relationships with the sisters Yimpa Boleslavsky and translator Nili Mirsky.
Maya Yasur’s “The Rules of Girls” (Kinneret Zmora Dvir) tells a coming-of-age story beginning at age 15, when she returned alone from the United States and entered a boarding school at Sde Boker. Together, they will discuss the choice of memoir writing and how it shapes narratives of female coming-of-age.
