Michel Houellebecq, the groundbreaking French author—one of the most provocative and influential voices in contemporary world literature—is the recipient of the 2025 Jerusalem Prize. Winner of the 2010 Prix Goncourt for his novel The Map and the Territory, Houellebecq is regarded as a central figure in France’s literary and political discourse. His works have been translated into dozens of languages and have had a far-reaching cultural impact—often through controversy and critique. Houellebecq will be in conversation with literary critic Arik Glasner.
