In the End I’m Left with God : Bacol Serlui in Conversation with Chen Artzi Sror Reading: Rashel Maymon Schwartz
Bacol Serlui is a poet, journalist and literature teacher who defines herself as a religious feminist. Her new book, Overweight (Kinneret Zmora Dvir, 2024), is a collection of intimate, political and autobiographical essays reflecting on the ongoing effort to carve out space as a woman and a creator, both in the world at large and within the religious sphere. Offering her unique perspective, she writes about subjects such as body image, the love of Torah, the exclusion of women, the female body, and the search for self-definition.
She will speak with journalist and commentator Chen Artzi Sror about feminism, Judaism, and the power of the woman writer.
The evening will include readings from the book by Rashel Maymon Schwartz, actress, director, and head of the Theatre Department at Herzog College.
