Our Trembling Times: Yaara Shehori and Maya Tevet Dayan
With musical guest Sivan Talmor
In her new poetry collection Our Trembling Times (Pardes, 2024), writer, poet, and editor Yaara Shehori reflects on life amidst ongoing upheaval, confronting the enduring fragility of personal memory with the forceful presence of collective memory. Through the lens of her own lived experiences, Shehori explores Israeli society and the determined march of history.
Shehori will be joined by poet and author Maya Tevet Dayan, who since October 7 has found herself at the heart of rising antisemitism in the United States. In response, she has published numerous essays on the topic, in both Hebrew and English, and embarked on a series of conversations with Jewish communities across North America. Her forthcoming poetry collection, The Wandering Jewess, examines what it means to be a Jewish woman today – in Israel and beyond.
The evening will be accompanied by musician Sivan Talmor, who will offer live, interpretive performances of her songs.
