Book Launch Event: “‘Shabbat, October 7’ – Discussing Testimony, Literature, and Therapy”
The book “Shabbat, October 7” (published by Kinneret, Zmora, Dvir) brings together over fifty testimonies collected and edited by poets, authors and theater people as part of the “Testimonies Project” by “Tarbut Movement.” The book presents a personal yet comprehensive, poignant and vivid portrayal of the events of Black Saturday in the Gaza Envelope and beyond.
In a conversation led by author, festival artistic director, and contributor to the collection of the testimonies, Julia Fermentto-Tzaisler, writer and poet Ron Dahan, who co-edited the book, and bibliotherapist Dr. Tamar Simon, who supported the project team, will discuss their literary work and emotional experiences documenting testimonies, and the intersections of testimony, literature, and therapy. Actors Maya Maoz and Alex Krul will perform monologues from “Shelter Stories” by the Habima Theater, based on testimonies edited by playwright Shahar Pinkas for the book.
Maayan Avidan, the project initiator, and co-editor of the book, will provide opening remarks.
The book was produced with the assistance of the Mifal HaPais Council for the Culture and Arts
