Married Life: Zeruya Shalev and Eyal Megged in Conversation with Anat Sharon-Blais
Guest: Leora Rivlin
Zeruya Shalev is among Israel’s most beloved and revered contemporary authors; praised by critics and recipients of numerous awards, her novels have been translated into 22 languages and achieved international bestseller status. Her novel “Fate” (Keter Publishing) weaves the stories of two women across two moments in history, sharing two life stories and one fateful encounter. Eyal Megged is a prolific and successful poet and author. Recipient of the Prime Minister’s Prize for Hebrew Writers, he is also known for his radio work and his advocacy for veganism. Megged’s latest novel, “Husband” (Yedioth Sfarim Publishing), explores the emotional estrangement between a long-married husband and wife, whose infrequent encounters are fraught with tension.
Authors Shalev and Megged, a married couple who share not only a roof but also numerous literary realms, will discuss their work, the intersection of partnership and love in life and literature, and their collaborative creative processes – matters of overlapping that are not only unavoidable but incredibly intriguing. The session, moderated by editor and presenter Anat Sharon-Blais, will feature selected readings from their works by actress Leora Rivlin.
