Los Angeles, Christmas Eve. A desperate supermarket check-out girl tries to arrange a drug deal. Needless to say, her plans get out of hand, and the result is a rollercoaster action comedy.
The book “Rosenfeld”, written by filmmaker Maya Kessler, is the most talked-about debut novel in Israel in recent years. The novel received favorable reviews, attracted thousands of fans and became a best-seller. The film “Go” that came out in 1999 was not a box-office hit, Kessler explains, “but it became a cult film among people like me, who are always thinking about taking a good story and making it even better.” This film is entertainment at its best: a harebrained drug deal that goes wrong, terrific characters that arouse empathy, authentic dialogue, humor, creative freedom – and above all, a model of storytelling. Kessler will present the film and talk about how it influenced her and her work.
