Orly-City: Orly Castel-Bloom in conversation with Yael Segalovitz
Thursday 11.5
17:30 - 19:00
DE BOTTON AUDITORIUM, MISHKENOT SHA'ANANIM CULTURAL CENTER
Orly Castel-Bloom is apparently the most interesting, provocative, and innovative writer in contemporary Israeli literature. Joseph Shimmel, the protagonist of her latest book, “Biotope,” is fired from his job as a non-faculty lecturer in a university’s failing French culture department and secludes himself in his real estate coup, an apartment in the middle of the Tel Aviv bustle, in the heart of a perpetual traffic jam. At this festive evening that is a tribute to her and her wild and one-of-a-kind work, literature researcher Dr. Yael Segalovitz will speak with her about her work and her life.
