Filmmaker Maya Kessler’s book, “Rosenfeld,” has in recent years been the most talked-about debut novel in Israel. The novel had favorable reviews, gathered many fans, and became a bestseller. “Rosenfeld” tells the neurotic, witty love story of Noa, a 36-year-old bachelorette, and Teddy Rosenfeld, an older, fat, and rich man. Their relationship is presented to us in extreme, almost to the point of obsessive, detail, including unforgettable sex scenes and dramatic scenes. Author and artistic director of the Writers Festival, Julia Fermentto-Tzaisler, will talk with Kessler about sexual writing in Hebrew, portraying love and sex before and after the Me-Too era and her surprising switch to literature after years of working in film.
