Lihi Lapid is a writer, journalist, and social activist. Following the lives of two women brought together under extraordinary circumstances, her novel On Her Own (Yedioth Books, 2021) was published in English by HarperCollins in the shadow of the October 7 attacks and the outbreak of war, at the height of a wave of boycotts and sanctions against Israeli artists.

Prof. Merav Roth is a psychoanalyst, clinical psychologist, cultural scholar and the founder of the therapeutic support program for the survivors of the Kibbutz Be’eri massacre. Her book A Psychoanalytic Perspective on Reading Literature: Reading the Reader (Modan, 2024) presents seven inner conflicts, each explored through a literary narrative and mirrored in a therapeutic encounter.

Lapid and Roth are also connected by family – Roth is the sister of Yair Lapid, Lihi Lapid’s partner. In conversation with journalist Shen Liberman, they will speak about the role of trauma in Israeli society and the healing power of narrative.
