F-DIY: Fanzine Workshop with Ronny Someck and David Duvshani

Supported by The U.S. Embassy in Israel and the American Center in Jerusalem

Monday 16.5
20:00-21:30
Djanogly Hall, Mishkenot Sha'ananim Cultural Center

The word “fanzine” is a blend of “fan” and “magazine,” and refers to magazines or comics produced by independent artists using cheap and available techniques. Fanzines are distributed for non-profit purposes and in limited numbers of copies. The first fanzines appeared in the 1940s in the United States and became a cornerstone of the American counterculture of the 1960s and 1970s. They served not only comic book artists and writers but also activists, feminists, and lovers of rock and punk.

During the workshop, we will create a short fanzine together under the direction of poet Ronny Someck and artist David Duvshani.
